Vancouver—Spoliarium, a platform that empowers artists by reengineering global art exhibits and providing a marketplace, announced their 2nd Live Streamed Global Art Exhibit entitled “Extant: Hope. Resilience. Actions.” which will be held on FRIDAY- NOVEMBER 26, 2021 7PM PACIFIC TIME | SATURDAY- NOVEMBER 27, 2021 10AM PHILIPPINE TIME. The mission of the exhibit is to: (1) Empower artists by educating and engaging the community about Spoliarium Artists, their artwork, and its impact on our daily lives. (2) How art can keep us inspired, alive and thrive amidst a global pandemic.

About the Exhibit theme: EXTANT: Hope. Resilience. Actions.
Spoliarium never stops helping resolve societal issues by inspiring and educating our community through art.
We’re all still coping with the COVID-19 pandemic for over a year now and as the vaccines roll out to us all, we need to consistently support each other with the power of art.

The exhibit theme will showcase magnificent artwork from the following Featured International Artists:
Danvic Briones, Conceptual Mixed Media from Delta, Canada
H.i.S., Gray Scale-Conceptualism from Singapore, Singapore
Margo Harrison, Realism-Expressionism from Fort Langley, Canada
Raeche, Fluid-Expressionism from Manila, Philippines
Sonja Roosenhart, Realism-Expressionism from Vijfhuizen, Netherlands
Totong Francisco II, Abstract-Expressionism from Angono, Philippines

Quick Facts
Spoliarium is a Latin word for “the Roman Colosseum’s basement” where the fallen and dying gladiators are dumped. A historical, Philippine national symbol painted by Juan Luna to inspire Filipinos to rise up against political oppression of colonization. It was submitted to the Exposición Nacional de Bellas Artes in 1884 in Madrid and won the first gold medal.

Spoliarium’s long-term mission is to:
(1) Support and connect local artists from different generations/backgrounds to a wider audience.
(2) Make art or artists approachable/accessible through art exhibits and technology.

Spoliarium believes that art moves people, has purpose and enables future artists to create impactful art.
