Buy art, change lives!
*For every art you buy or support you give, you change lives. We provide meals, hygiene kits and educational tools for the victims of child abuse (on top of supporting the artists of our generation and people living with HIV through The Red Whistle Organization). *Fine art also changes or improves our quality of life. Scientific studies proved that blood flow increases 10% when we gaze at a beautiful painting just as it increases when we look at someone we love. Art induces a feel-good sensation directly to the brain, which enhances cognition (the mental action or process of acquiring knowledge and understanding through thought, experience, and the senses).

Artist’s Profile

DANVIC BRIONES
Conceptual Mixed Media
Delta, Canada

Briones is a Vancouver-based mixed-media artist and expressive arts therapist. His art focuses on his memories from childhood, incorporating nature and cultures from Canada and the Philippines. He also focuses on the Vancouver landscape, portraits of people, animals, the depiction of events and everyday life, and almost always giving a glimpse of his Filipino heritage.

He has participated in group exhibitions around BC and in other parts of Canada. His works are often shown in Surrey Art Gallery, Museo Italian Cultural Centre in Vancouver, Essence at the Philippine Embassy in Ottawa, Richmond Public Library, and San Diego Centre for the Moving Arts in the US.

His style and technique continuously evolve. He carves and engraves recycled wood to make a bas-relief and paints the resulting image with very subdued colours – the deepest red, mossy green, and maroon that borders on a darker hue. He highlights his subject using the brightest yellow and treats the canvas with varnish, letting the wood absorb the colours. He then softens certain elements using a variety of brushes and techniques.

What do collectors love about Danvic’s breathtaking masterpieces?
-The carved and engraved subjects on the recycled wood make his artwork stand out
-The details, colours and texture of his masterpieces are fascinating to look at and to contemplate on
-You’d be mesmerized with how he combines all his style and techniques such as recycled wood, oil, acrylic, and varnish in playful themes.
